Jabugo consortium, award for the best Andalusian agrifood SME

On the 14th February the 6th edition of the  “best Andalusian agrifood SME“ award was granted  the Jaburgo Inc. consortium by Carrefour. The prize for  ‘the most innovative company’ was presented to Bornay Desserts S.L. The event was attended by Ana M Romero, the General Director of Industry and Agrifood quality of the Junta de Andalusia, Antonio Carrillo, the general secretary the general secretary of the Andalusian Business association (CEA), Rafael Arias-Salgado, President of Carrefour retail centers and Juan de Porres, General secretary of Landaluz Business association of Certified Quality.

The Jabugo Inc. consortium is the head of a business association dedicated to the production of Iberian pork, as well as the preparation and commercialization of its products. They combine artisan skill passed down from generations, with the most advanced techniques for maintaining sanitation and quality. The characteristics of  Jabugos  location such as altitude and micro climate united with the careful preparation guarantee the quality of those products unrivaled in aroma and flavor.

During the event the prize for the most innovative company was awarded to Borney Desserts S.L.  A company created by the Bornay brothers to continue the practices of an century old tradition which has been the production and commercialization of ice cream, sorbets, pastries and dairy desserts in general.

The winning companies have been chosen by Carrefour customers voting who visited the „Andalusian certified quality fortnight“ campaign from the 9th to the 23rd of June. More than 68 Andalusian companies and 208 attended this event.

The support of local  companies and products  is one of the  principle objectives of  Carrefour in Andalusia. Last year the company worked with 1,406 companies from the community.

With these awards Carrefour recognizes the labor of local SMEs that stand out for their quality and image on the market. Additionally these companies compromise with the distribution company by integrating by supporting regional economies.
