Having more than 10 years of successful trajectory in Sevilla and Jaen, where more than 7,000 alumni have gone through, the Gambrinus School of Hospitality (GSH) will present its new venue in Madrid. The chosen place is Pedro Larumbe’s restaurant, godfather of the project, located in the building ABC Serrano, a 4,000m2 installation with dining rooms, five totally equipped kitchens and underground parking.
With the opening of this new venue, the Gambrinus School of Hospitality will present its formative offer to all professionals within the hospitality sector in the Spanish capital. The GSH has converted itself over these years into a reference for the sector, inasmuch for the prominent quality as for its outstanding role as ambassador for the beer culture.
More than 30 something students have matriculated in the first course that will take place in Madrid, a figure that far exceeds all expectations. Within the training programs that GSH offers, traditional Spanish cuisine values are taken into account, as are new techniques and catering and restaurant trends, without forgetting the values of quality and Heineken Spain’s own commitment.
The content of the training cycles are divided into various categories and are directed toward different audiences. The topics range from training for dining room and kitchen staff, catering and restaurant management, current trends within the sector, catering quality, planning and keys to the hospitality business, economic and financial management, taxation, human resources, effective people management, catering and restaurant marketing, English for restaurants and bars, diet and nutrition up to the viability of hospitality projects or strategic direction, among others.

The training programs of the course are done in front of an audience in real restaurants of the Schools and associated restaurants. This activity forms part of the student’s training plan and completes a stage of practical training in prestigious catering and restaurant establishments in all of Spain, some of them award winners of Michelin stars.
More so, the Gambrinus School of Hospitality has a job bank which is updated daily where all alumni that have passed through the school have access. This has contributed to an achievement of 100% job placement where 70% of the enrolled students have received job offers the following month once the training is completed.

Over the last 10 years Heineken Spain, through the GSH, has supported the best hospitality sector with the training of more than 7,000 professionals. A “grain of sand” that contributes to the improvement of professionalism in this sector that generates a production of more than 123,800 million euros and 7.07 of Spanish Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to the data from the Hospitality Sectors from the SFHC (Spanish Federation of Hospitality and Catering). According to the same information, Spain counts for almost 370,000 restaurant and lodging establishments that combined, generate 1.45 million jobs.
The company continues investing in the enhancement of the competitive situation and business sustainability. In 2010, the company dedicated 85.3 million euros to this objective in Spain, including the modernisation of its Hospitality commercial activity, the modernisation of its factories, and environmental improvement and waste management, furthermore professional training of its human capital.
