We will premiere a new category on our web, ‘The guest of the month’, and we do it at the hand of the young chef that has suggested ways of becoming one of the biggest chefs in Andalusia. He is Rafael Arroyo, recent winner of the Novice Chef Competition during the last edition of the Andalucía Sabor.
Actually, Rafael works as the sous chef at the restaurant, El Claustro, located in the AC Palacio Santa Paula Hotel in Granada, under the orders of chef Juan Andres Morilla, the prestigious Andalusian chef that has received numerous prizes and recognitions, among them the Best Chef of Spain in 2009.

Arroyo’s career is linked almost since his beginning to El Claustro and its chef, Juan Andres Morilla. Skilled in the kitchen by the Hospitality School Castillo del Marqués in Torre de Mar (Malaga), his first internships were in the Malaga restaurant El Café de Paris, Michelin-starred, under the guidance of its chef Jose Carlos García.
For 4 years, Rafael Arroyo has worked in El Claustro where he began as a kitchen helper. Ascending first as a chef and then as Department Chef (Chef de Partie), finally he has become the Sous Chef. Furthermore, despite his youth, he has to his credit numerous awards and recognitions, obtained personally or as assistant to Juan Andrés Morilla.
